Can you think of a time when you used the Bible as a mirror to correct something in your own life?

I use the Bible all the time to mirror my behavior. I used to drink a lot of liquor. It was effecting me negatively and I just kept drinking everyday. One night I came across a verse that said, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). I saw this and it made me get my behind in gear. I decided to quit cold turkey and have not touched the stuff since.

I also will not allow myself to lie. I stop it before it even starts. Sometimes I will get a thought to lie, but then the Holy Spirit pokes me and says there is no reason and that Jesus would not be happy with me if I did it, so I do everything I can to avoid lying for any reason.
